Yes, you can still apply for WPG. Applications are open to percussionists from around the world. However, we strongly recommend researching your visa requirements and securing all necessary documentation well in advance of the tour. Visa arrangements are the responsibility of each artist.

No. There are no restrictions on how many times an individual may apply for or participate in WPG programmes or tours, whether virtual or in-person. In fact, many Academy artists do go onto partake in live tours.

All Academy activities will be delivered via Restream, a web-based platform. Certain events, clinics, and performances will be live-streamed or pre-recorded and shared across our social media platforms, including Facebook and YouTube.

Yes. The virtual format makes the Academy much easier to balance alongside academic commitments or day-to-day workload. While WPG can be time-intensive, many participants successfully manage both. We recommend aiming for at least 80% attendance to gain the maximum benefit from the programme.

The Academy runs from Saturday 30th May 2026 to Tuesday 14th July 2026. Due to the nature of the programme, some preparatory materials will need to be recorded before the Academy officially begins, typically during April or early May following audition results.

Most applicants choose a free-choice audition, submitting 10–15 minutes of varied solo or ensemble repertoire. Any instrument is welcome, but we encourage you to demonstrate a range of skills or a distinctive percussive voice. For duo or trio applicants, you may alternatively submit selected excerpts from the WPG Audition Pack, which includes backing tracks and video tutorials to support your preparation.

The full course fee for WPG 2026 is due on Wednesday 15th April 2026. The total cost to participate is £995 GBP (all-inclusive). A limited number of scholarships will also be available.

Yes! The WPG Academy is delivered entirely online, so there are no travel requirements for this year’s programme. All sessions and activities will take place in the UTC time zone.
